New Year, New Resolutions

Every year I tell myself what I would like to do differently in the new year, this year is no exception to that. Yes, I am a little late on the resolution wagon for this year (it's the last day in January) but better late than never. So I compiled a list of all the things I would like to do differently/accomplish this year in no particular order.

1. Make more time for myself- I very very rarely do anything by myself. I always have Sophia, Ricky, or
    someone with me.
2. Get Sophia sleeping in her crib!
3. Go on a date night, without Sophia or the new baby at least twice a month!
4. Be more organized
5. Have my house company ready all of the time
6. Put more money into savings/ 10-10-80 Budgeting (more about this later)
7. Minimize my time with electronics (tv, phone, computer)
8. Sew more often
9. Have a girls night at least once a month! Bunco maybe?
10. Continue being active during pregnancy and afterwards
11. Eat more whole foods
12. Do more crafts with Sophia
13. Nightly alone time with Ricky (we will see how this goes with Sophia and a new baby but its something
      to strive for!)
14. Learn to say No more often!
15. Go on more day/weekend trips
16. Be more patient/ dont raise my voice
17. Do more community service
18. Read more books
19. Balance my time as equally as possible between Ricky, Sophia, and new baby
20. Continue doing things one on one with Sophia when the new baby comes. Do things one on one with
      new baby as well.
21. Do a mud run
22. Take more pictures and video of Sophia and new baby
23. Blog more often!
25. Write and send out cards more often

Im sure there are many more things I could  add to the list but this is it for now. It will be interesting to see how well I do with these resolutions throughout the year. If you havent made your resolutions for this year, its not too late!

Peaceful

Those of you who have the privilege so spending time with Sophia know 1 thing for sure, she hates to sleep! On the very rare occasion she will come to me and cuddle and drift off into a peaceful slumber. I cherish this time with her so much because it happens so rarely!

And baby makes 4!

I am so very pleased and excited to announce, I am pregnant! That's right, we will be welcoming a new addition to our family in July! We decided not to find out if we are having a boy or a girl. We did this with Sophia as well and when she was born hearing Ricky say "Its a boy!" cricket cricket. Mom saying, "look again!" lots of laughing and Ricky finally saying "It's a GIRL!" is a moment that I will treasure forever! I cant wait to experience that again! I also do not care to know if this baby is a boy or a girl because I quite honestly do not like the unrealistic expectations that it comes with. Many people assume that if you already have a girl then surely we want a boy this time around. I would love to have a little boy, I think little boys are so much fun; however, I would also love a little sister for Sophia. I always wanted a sister growing up. I think there is a special bond between sisters and id love for Sophia to experience that. My point is a healthy baby is my priority not the sex of my baby. I will feel equally as blessed having another girl as I would be having a boy. So, for now the big "Is it a boy or a girl?" question will remain a mystery.

The baby is due July 18, 2013. Sophia will be almost a year and a half old. There are plenty of people that think we are crazy to want two children so close in age. Yes, it will most likely be difficult, overwhelming, exhausting at times but it will also be wonderful. I havent met one single person that regrets the children they have, only the children they never had. I think giving Sophia the precious gift of being a sister is something that she will cherish as she grows older.

I have been very lucky in this pregnancy so far. Much like my pregnancy with Sophia, I havent experienced any morning sickness. I have of course been tired but I think a lot of that has to do with constantly chasing Sophia around. She is always on the move! Hopefully things continue to go smoothly! We decided to wait until after my 12 week appointment to share the news with our family and friends. We wanted to make sure everything looked good with the baby. We decided on making a video! We shared this movie with our family first and once they all saw it we shared it with our friends. Many of you have already seen this video, for those of you that have not I hope you enjoy it!

Now and then

I cant believe how big Sophia is getting! Its crazy to me how much she has grown and changed over the last 6 months! I though I would share some of the biggest changes for those of you who dont get to see her everyday like we do!.

Stats: At birth she weighed 9lbs 3.8oz and was 21in long at her 6 month appt she weighed 16lbs 7oz and was 25 1/4 in tall
Sleeping: hasnt changed so much, she is still a horrible sleeper!!!
Crying: At birth Sophia cried upwards of 14 hours a day now she only cries if she wants/needs something. Best change ever!
Talking: Sophia can say 3 things! Dada, Mama, and Baba and she will say it over and over and over again all day long. Its really cute actually and I should take a video of it.
Teeth- still no teeth but she is definitely teething and I expect her first tooth to pop through soon.
Moving- First it was a wiggle, then it was a roll, followed by a scoot, now its a crawl! It takes her awhile but she still gets to where she wants to go eventually!
Eating- She has been entirely breast feed until she turned 6 months old. We gave her her first food which was avocado and peaches. She loves to eat and is doing a wonderful job with it. (Post on this to follow!)
Car rides- From the day she was born she has hated car rides thankfully a light bulb went off when she turned 6 months old and she has decided that riding in the car isnt a death sentence and is actually pretty relaxing. 9 times out of 10 she falls asleep in the car now! Thank God!
Carrier- Sophia has always loved to be carried around which hasnt changed very much but the carrier I put her in has. She prefered a sling when she was first born, now we have upgraded to the ErgoBaby carrier. Much better on my back too :)
Field Trips- She has and continues to love leaving the house. It doesnt matter where we go she is happy to be out and about especially if there are a lot of people there!

I could go on forever about how much she has grown and changed but these are some of the biggest changes. Im nervous and excited about the big changes we are sure to see from 6-12 months!

About 2 hours old

6 months old!
